Costa Rica's Rainforests & Beaches

January 31 - February 7, 2009

DETAILS OF THE TRIP:

After arrival to San Jose, Costa Rica on Saturday, January 31, we'll transfer to a fine hotel for overnight. The next morning we'll fly to the Pacific coast and board our boat to reach Marenco Rainforest Reserve, one of the finest spots on the Osa Peninsula, adjacent Corcovado National Park... the wildest place in Costa Rica.

From our base at this beautiful lodge, we'll explore the surrounding rainforest via day and night walks, searching out interesting wildlife, viewing incredible botanical wonders, observing and photographing ...and anything else of interest to you. We'll also visit Isla del Cano, a pristine island reserve 10 miles offshore. There we'll see do a short hike, view pre-Columbian artifacts, and the spectacular fish life (it's a great place to snorkel). With luck, we'll catch a seasnake or two and see some sea turtles and pilot and gray whales. Optional (and often spectacular!) offshore fishing can be arranged at an extra cost.

INCLUDED: All lodging in double accommodations (Single available at extra cost.) for 5 nights/6 days at Marenco Lodge, 2 nights (1 coming, 1 going) in San Jose, all transfers, internal flights San Jose to Palmar Sur and return to San Jose, all meals while at Marenco Lodge, outings and tours to Marenco Biological Reserve, Corcovado National Park and Isla del Caño National Park, and of course the professional guidance and fun company of Bill Lamar.
