Itinerary
Day 01 - Lima / Caral / Chavin
Early morning departure to Chavin through spectacular Andean scenery. En route visit the site of Caral, dating from 2600 BCE and considered the oldest city of Americas. Overnight at selected lodge.
Day 02 - Chavin de Huantar / Huaraz
Visit the UNESCO world heritage site of Chavin de Huantar, built about 800 BCE. This is a religious center of the Andes with a labyrinth of underground ritual passages and carvings. After lunch depart to Huaraz. Overnight at Andino Hotel.
Day 03 - Huaraz / Sechin / Trujillo
Early depart to descend to the coast. Visit the ruins of Sechin. Here it is possible to find close to 500 carved monoliths. Then continue to Trujillo. Overnight at Libertador Hotel.
Day 04 - Trujillo
Full day tour. Visit the City and its colonial buildings and explore the Moche Valley including the pyramids of Sun and the moon with their impressive colorful decorations. After lunch at Huanchaco beach, demonstration how fishermen used the famous totora reed boats as their ancestor did in the past. Then continue to the adobe city of Chan Chan, capital of the Chimu Empire. Overnight at Libertador Hotel.
Day 05 - Trujillo / Chiclayo
Morning depart to Chiclayo. On the way visit the ceremonial Moche center of El Brujo. Lunch at Paijan with a Peruvian horse show. Continue to Chiclayo. Overnight at Gran Hotel Chiclayo.
Day 06 - Chiclayo / Lima
Morning visit to Sipán archaeological site burials, the valley of pyramids of Tucume and the Royal Tombs of Sipan Museum. Lunch at local gourmet restaurant. Night transfer to the airport for flight to Lima.
